I’m real excited about bringing the magic of Santa to your child and because this is the first time attempting this, I’m also open to any ideas you might have to help create an authentic experience for your child.
I’ve been in love with the magic and spirit of Santa Claus since I was about 9 years old. The first time I became jolly St. Nick took place in Mrs. Weinstein’s fourth grade class at the old #8 School on Main St. There were only four classes in the whole building and at Christmas time all four classes had to write and perform a play for the other three. Susan Platon and I wrote the play for our class and I played the part of Santa. I loved it! My beard was made of a cut out piece of construction paper with cotton balls glued to it, and once I put on my beard, I was engulfed with the spirit of Santa. I believed!
This is the year 2020. We could all use a little magic right now. This is my gift to you.
A hand written letter from the child if possible or an attempted signature on the letter you’ll be helping the child write. Santa will be showing this in the video. Include an image of the child for two reasons, 1, This is visual aid for Santa as he likes to see who he’s talking to, and two your child will light up when he sees his own letter and photo in the video. Proof that Santa received his letter.
Santa will need to know something about your child so it will come across more believable when Santa speaks directly to your child. It can be simple information like favorite food and favorite color.
Santa also wants to encourage your child and build confidence in areas that he might be struggling with. Is there a behavior issue that needs addressing, maybe some sadness the child might need some help with.
Make sure to include the child strengths, accomplishments, and things that he/she is proud of achieving so Santa can end the visit on a positive note.
You of course will have to be the judge of what information you want to share with Santa. Please keep in mind, Santa is all knowing, so any information you offer will add to the magic. The goal of course is to help your child have a magical experience.
Why are we going through so much trouble?
We are creating memories.
This is really up to you as to when and how you receive your video. My thoughts on this would be to start uploading the finished video on Facebook, on your timeline, during the first week of Dec. Use this as a teaching opportunity to help your child learn patience.
Second option, If you wish to have your video on a flash drive, You can send ten dollars with your letter to cover the cost of the drive and shipping.
Third option, (easiest option) I can provide you with a link to download the video.
Feel free to get in touch if you need to work out a different plan.
